Keeping Donald Trump In Line

Keeping Donald Trump In Line

Looks to me like the Democratic Party and the DNC has just one hope to make sure Donald Trump is just a one-term president.  If he goes after breaking up Social Security and Medicare, the Senate is going to have to keep and use the filibuster.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which is how a president should be elected.  They gained members in the Senate and in the House.  So, overall, their message is being heard by the majority of voters.  It definitely is time for a woman to be president and in saying that there is only one candidate that’s looking like she can handle the job and that is Senator Elizabeth Warren.

She’s the senator that pretty well single-handedly pushed through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau bringing the greedy payday lenders under control.  Now, after saying that, there is still plenty of corruption in the growing, big, unregulated investment banks.  This was very obvious when Wells Fargo got caught and fined for selling products to their customers which they had not requested but were expected to pay for.

What took place was a hearing in front of the Senate Banking Committee, when Senator Elizabeth Warren went after Wells Fargo CEO, John Strumpf and she got support from even some Republicans to get him to resign and pay one of the largest fines ever, $185 million.  Wells Fargo now has ads on TV saying that will never happen again.

Well, we’ll see what first-term president Donald Trump will do.  Let’s hope he does protect Social Security, Medicare and the commercial banking industry that the Democrats don’t have to use the filibuster to keep him in line. I have Republican friends that say Republicans better not privatize Social Security, which Republican Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan is threatening to do.

Republicans don’t like Obamacare but before they throw it out, they better see if they can fix it because it does have some benefits, unless they have a program of their own that is better for all the people living in this country but, up to now, I haven’t heard it.

Democratic Senate Minority leader, Harry Reid, is retiring and if Democrats are smart, they would give the job to Senator Elizabeth Warren.

(SENATOR BERNIE SANDERS HAD A GREAT INTERVIEW WITH JOHN DICKERSON ON CBS’S FACE THE NATION.  SEN SANDERS HAS A NEW BOOK COMING OUT TITLED “OUR REVOLUTION.”  HILLARY CLINTON SHOULD HAVE PICKED HIM FOR VICE PRESIDENT OR ANNOUNCED PLANS TO GIVE HIM A CABINET POSITION BEFORE THE ELECTION BECAUSE IT SURE DID WITH PRES RONALD REAGAN WHEN HE PICKED GEORGE H.W. BUSH AND WHEN PRES KENNEDY PICKED LYNDON JOHNSON.

About tim074

I'm a retired dairy farmer that was a member of the National Farmer's Organization (NFO). Before going farming, I spent 4 years in the United States Air Force where I saved up enough money to get my down payment to go farming. I also enjoy writing and reading biographies and I write about myself as well as articles and excerpts I find interesting. I'm specifically interested in finances, particularly in the banking industry because if it wasn't for help from my local Community Bank, I never could have started farming which I was successful at. So, I'm real interested in the Small Business Administration and I know they are the ones creating jobs. I have been a member of Common Cause and am now a member of Public Citizen as well as AARP. I have, in the past, written over 150 articles on the Obama Blog (my.barackobama.com) and I'd like to tie these two sites together. I'm also on Twitter, MySpace and Facebook and find these outlets terrifically interesting particularly what many of these people did concerning the uprising in the Arab world. I believe this is a smaller world than we think it is and my goal is to try to bring people together to live in peace because management needs labor like labor needs management. Up to now, that hasn't been so easy to find.
